Adult Basic Education

New Prague Area Schools is a partner with SouthWest Metro Intermediate District. Together, we are able to provide a comprehensive array of customized programs and services to complement the educational services offered by our local school district and the surrounding communities.

General Education Development (GED) is a self-paced program designed to help you study and prepare to take the GED tests. For those without a high school diploma, a GED can fill the gap in applying for employment and further schooling.

If you already have a GED or High School diploma, you may want to “brush up” your basic skills with an ABE class.

English language learners will also find classes through us to help with the language barrier.

SouthWest Metro serves students in 11 member districts and 5 associate member districts across the southwestern Twin Cities metropolitan area with programs in Special Education, Career and Technical Education, Care & Treatment, Adult Basic Education, and Alternative Education.

Students may also receive assistance, not only with academics, but with mental health services to support their overall growth in the classroom and beyond. Please visit the SouthWest Metro Intermediate District website to learn more.
